Wayne Jensen
Architect
President & Senior principal, Wayne arrived in Juneau from his home state of Nebraska in 1973 ready to embrace life on the last frontier. His early years were spent working for George Filler and in 1977 Wayne joined Ackley & Associates. By 1979, Wayne was a partner in the newly formed Ackley/Jensen Architects and has been our senior partner since 1985. In this time Wayne has provided design services throughout Alaska from the Pribilof Islands to Metlakatla, his work has resulted in several design awards. Wayne's knowledge and understanding of the Alaskan built environment and ability to lead complex multidisciplinary project teams results in highly successful construction projects constructed within budget and on schedule. In addition to his work at JYW, Wayne has served on several boards and commissions related to the design industry in Alaska. Wayne is also an active Rotarian and Chairman of the Alaska Committee. Wayne received his LEED Accredited Professional certification in 2011.
Dan Fabrello
Construction Administrator
Secretary, Growing up in logging camps throughout Southeast and in the community of Wrangell, Dan has a personal understanding of Southeastern Alaska climate, culture and conditions. Dan joined JYW as a draftsman in 1997 and quickly expanded his responsibilities to include management of our information technology systems and construction administration. Dan joined the firm leadership as a shareholder and associate in 2008 and now oversees all construction document production, provides quality control reviews and leads our construction administration efforts. Dan is actively involved in the Juneau community as a Navy League Member, Alaska Miners Association Member, Past President of the Juneau Chamber of Commerce, Former Juneau Douglas Ice Association (JDIA) Board of directors member and USA Hockey Coach and still active adult leader with BSA Scouts of America.
Ben Wood
Drafter/IT
The primary drafter at JYW, Ben is our "go-to" guy for AutoCAD and Revit. If you have a question or need assistance with a drawing, Ben is the guy to call. He is actively involved in the technical drafting of nearly every project generated by our office. In addition to his drafting work, Ben assists with the maintenance and management of our IT systems. Ben's other life includes motorcycles and volunteering in youth activities.
Rita Jensen
Accountant
One half of the dynamic duo in our accounting department, Rita has been assisting with the financial management of our firm since 1982. Like her husband Wayne, Rita is a native of Nebraska and a key figure in our office. Without her tireless efforts crunching the numbers, JYW would not be the well oiled machine that it is.
Corey Wall
Architect
Vice President, Corey has 16+ years of experience in institutional and commercial architecture throughout Alaska. Corey has particular expertise working with occupied facilities undergoing renovation/expansion, working as Project Manager and Project Architect for all phases of recent large and complex projects. He is comfortable organizing and managing large groups of technical consultants to ensure well-coordinated projects are delivered on-time and on-budget. Corey is also skilled at communicating clearly with Owner and Stakeholder groups through behind-the-scenes record-keeping and facilitation of public meetings. Recent projects as Project Manager / Project Architect include the $3M Ketchikan Airport Remodel, the $13 million Mt. Eccles Elementary School Addition & Renovation, the $8 million Kodiak Library, and the $7M Petersburg Municipal Building Renovation.
Armando DeGuzman
Project Designer
Hailing from San Diego and a graduate of University of California at Berkeley, Armando has been an entertaining addition to our staff. Since joining our firm in 2007, Armando has established himself as a valued member of our architectural design team. Armando is nearing completion of his IDP requirements and preparing for his NCARB exam. His graphic rendering skills have been of great assistance on projects such as the Dimond Park Aquatic Center. Armando is the past president of Capital City Rotaract.
